WHAT IS THE YOUNG DUDES GUIDE TO JAPAN?

You just annoyingly surfed your way through another "Where To Find The Best Hot Springs" page and you were getting sick of the search engine bringing up Asian porno sites every time you typed in Japanese girls, and were anxiously wondering why the hell was it so hard to find a site that would tell you about real Japan. Not the sushi, not where to find the greatest view-points for Mt. Fuji, not what the grandest temple is in Japan, or about some wallet-draining festivities - screw all that, we're talking about about the truth, the PEOPLE; the BABES; the BOOZE; the CLUBS; the REALITY OF BEING IN JAPAN. Getting laid without knowing Japanese. Surviving with 10 bucks in your back pocket. What natto is and why it should be avoided. Daily life. A site about every little freaky aspect of living in this great country that you had always wondered about since you saw it on the TV. Buy that dream plane ticket - but read YD first.

This page originated from the pen of Mr.Kristian Dunlop, the noble and completely unabashed genius who wrote a few essays about living in Japan (and who writes this very paragraph), and from there sprouted a community of fellow brilliant minds. The YD we know now is a culmination of efforts from a wide-range of folk who've either lived in Japan, are expats, or those who are even bi-lingual Japanese themselves. The site doesn't exactly have any kind of mission behind it, other than to entertain ourselves with random stories, and to be there for eachother when the time calls for it. You could think of us as mates in a virtual pub. And as the conversations you might find in a pub go, YD isn't quite as PC in places as it should be, even chauvanisitic at times, and we apologise for that, but well, readers should just relax, take this site for what it is - a bit of fun, a laugh, nothing offensive, nothing unsavoury, and nothing serious - and if you do that, you'll have an enjoyable read.
